PG&E Announces PSPS Event 8/17 through 8/18 – LMUD Customers Unaffected

Tuesday, August 17:

Pacific Gas and Electric Company Has announced a potential, PSPS event for today, Tuesday, August 17 through Wednesday, August 18. Although this event may affect some Lassen and Plumas county residents, it will not affect LMUD and our customers. We remain islanded with HLP and continue to receive power directly from that facility. However, due to the current #DixieFire conditions and high winds, LMUD stands ready to de-energize power if fire personnel deem it necessary for the public’s safety and the safety of first responders. For information on PSPS events, please visit PG&E’s website, http://www.pge.com/psps

LMUD has been made aware that some customers are concerned that PG&E's, PSPS event scheduled for Tuesday, August 17th, may affect LMUD customers. This is NOT true. Although Lassen county is listed as a "potential impact area," at this time, LMUD is not connected to the PG&E grid - we are still receiving power from HLP. Currently, we do not have plans to de-energize any part of our system. However, due to the Dixie Fire, high-winds and possible erratic fire behavior, LMUD may be ordered to de-energize power if fire personnel deem it necessary for safety. As always, we will do our best to keep our customers informed and up to date on all power situations. To find out more about PG&E's, PSPS program, visit their website, http://www.pge.com/psps
