Furloughed Federal Employees/Government Shutdown.

Due to the ongoing shutdown of the federal government, LMUD is offering payment extensions to affected federal employees.

If affected customers are not able to pay their electric bill when it becomes due, they must contact our office BEFORE their disconnect date and request a payment extension. Extensions are considered on a case-by-case basis.

To qualify, customers must provide proof of federal employment. When a customer is able to pay their bill in compliance with their extension agreement, all late penalties will be reversed. If a customer is not able to pay by the agreed upon extension date, they must contact the LMUD office and request an additional extension prior to their original agreement date, which will, again, be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To request an extension, or to make payment arrangements, eligible customers must call the LMUD office during regular business hours, 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The office can be reached at 530-257-4174. Please keep in mind that payment arrangements cannot be made after hours.
