WEAR is designed for income-qualified customers who may struggle to keep up with their utility bills during the colder months. From November through April, eligible households receive a 50% discount on the first 1,500 kilowatt-hours used each month, an impactful savings when heating systems are working overtime and daylight hours are short.
With WEAR’s help, LMUD ensures no 1 is forced to choose between heating their home and paying for essential household expenses.
Applying Is Easy
Starting October 1, residents can apply online at lmud.org, where they’ll find clear income guidelines and a simple application process. Prefer a physical copy? Applications are also available at the LMUD office, the Lassen Economic Development Corp. in Westwood, or by calling (530) 257-4174 to have 1 mailed.
Once submitted, applications are reviewed promptly. If approved, customers won’t receive a formal acceptance letter, but they can confirm their status by calling LMUD or checking their December bills for the credit applied to November energy use.
