LMUD Board Meeting Update: August 26, 2021

August 26, 2021

The LMUD Board of Directors met for their regular monthly board meeting on Tuesday, August 24th. The Board discussed many things, including the District’s, Power Delivery Cost Analysis spread sheet. The PDCA is used by the board to evaluate current and future costs. It is reviewed once a quarter and helps guide the board as to whether rates should be adjusted.

The August PDCA indicated that LMUD is currently under-collecting in its rate structure. After much discussion between the board, staff and members of the public, the board voted to increase rates by a half cent per kilowatt hour, beginning with the September 10th billing.

The board also received a 14401 report from LMUD’s General Manager, Pat Holley. The report detailed the need for a possible increase to the district’s facility charge. The facility charge is a fixed monthly charge that all LMUD customers pay. In order to adjust this charge, the board must hold a public hearing. The hearing has been set for Tuesday, September 28th at 5:30pm. This will coincide with the regular monthly board meeting. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input to the board.
