LMUD Scholarships Awarded

Lassen Municipal Utility District (LMUD) is happy to announce the 2022 LMUD Community Scholarship recipients: Ezra Luedecke, Alliyah Yerington, Trysta Spangle, and Hailey Gregor.

Trysta and Hailey received continuing college student scholarships.

Alliyah is the daughter of Tasia Harrison of Susanville. She will attend Vanderbilt University this fall, studying psychology, to earn a doctorate in pediatric occupational therapy. Alliyah is the reigning Miss Lassen County and was valedictorian of the Lassen High School Class of 2022.

As valedictorian of Thompson Peak Charter School, Ezra exemplifies what it means to serve the community. The son of Glenn and Sabine Luedecke of Susanville, he identified his goal of becoming a teacher early on. He is pursuing a degree from Western Governors University. Ezra not only graduated at the top of his high school class, he did so with 35 college credits from Lassen Community College. Since graduating, Ezra took the paraeducator test and passed with flying colors. He is hoping to return to Thompson Peak Charter in the fall, not as a student but as a para-educator.

LMUD scholarships are funded through the district’s Public Benefits program. Each year, two $1,250 and one $500 scholarships are awarded to students who attend school in the district’s service territory and whose parents or guardians reside in a home served by LMUD. This year, due to a surplus in the scholarship fund, LMUD awarded two continuing college student scholarships.

Congratulations to Ezra, Alliyah, Trysta and Hailey. LMUD is proud to contribute to your academic success.
