Lassen Municipal Utility District is happy to announce the recipients of the 2023 LMUD Community Scholarship: Kaden Dunten, Trevor Schwagerl and Preeti Misra.

LMUD’s scholarship program is funded through the district’s Public Benefits program. Each year, 2 scholarships of $1,250 and one $500 scholarship are awarded to students who attend school in the district’s service territory and whose parents or guardians reside in a home served by LMUD.

Preeti, a nursing student at Lassen Community College, received the $500 continuing college student scholarship. She will attend LCC in the fall to pursue her goal of becoming a registered nurse.

Kaden and Trevor received $1,250 graduating senior scholarships. Both are graduates of Lassen High School.

Kaden, the son of Ty and Michelle Dunten, plans to continue his education at LCC. He aspires to be the first child in the Dunten family to achieve a college degree. His current goal is to receive an associate degree in welding.

Trevor, the son of Jeff Schwagerl and Kristen Wilburn, is excited to start his journey toward becoming a utility lineworker. He has been accepted to Northwest Lineman College’s Electrical Lineworker Program and will begin classes this fall.

Congratulations to Kaden, Trevor and Preeti! LMUD is proud to be able to contribute to their academic success.
