Attention shutterbugs: Get your photo on the cover of LMUD’s edition of Ruralite magazine!
LMUD distributes more than 5,900 copies of Ruralite each month to customers in Susanville and the surrounding area! Wouldn’t you like to see your photo on the cover?
Here’s the Scoop
- Up to 6 amazing photos will be chosen by an unbiased team of judges at Ruralite magazine.
- Winning photos will be featured on the cover of the Lassen Ruralite magazine. Winners will be announced during Public Power Week, October 1 to 7.
- Winners will receive a $100 LMUD energy gift card.
- By entering the contest, you agree to give LMUD rights to publish your photo on the Ruralite cover and to use it in various communication tools, including print and digital with photo credit.
Gotta Play (by the Rules) To Win!
- Photographers must reside in a residence served by LMUD or own a business served by LMUD.
- Photos must be within LMUD’s service territory and may include people, places or things. Photos from all seasons will be considered.
- Only vertical photos will be considered.
- Only digital JPEG photos will be accepted and can be emailed to our informations department. Photos must be at least 300 dpi at 9 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Email attachments larger than 10 megabytes will not be accepted.
- Each photo submission must include the photographer’s name, address, LMUD account number, email address, phone number, location of the photo and a short description of the photo.
- A maximum of 3 photos may be submitted per contestant.
- Photos will be accepted until August 31, 2023.
- Submissions should be emailed to our informations department or mailed to LMUD (address below) along with supporting information. Please put the words “2023 Cover Photo Contest” in the subject line.

Helpful Hints
- Use the highest resolution setting on your digital camera or cell phone.
- Photograph beautiful places and wildlife. Successful photos will have dramatic colors or scenery.
- Submit photos that suggest a season or holiday.
- Show us the best hidden spots in our area.
- Avoid photos of pets.
- Pay attention to lighting. Just after sunrise and just before sunset are beautiful times to photograph.
Submit Your Photos
Email your high-resolution photos to our informations department with the subject line “Cover Photo Contest Submission.” Include your name and photo description(s) in the email.
