In fact, sustainability is one of LMUD’s Core Values. Our definition of sustainability is proactively planning for the future to preserve and proclaim the values of public power.
We prioritize cultivating relationships with agencies and industry partners that believe in the same values as we do—building a vibrant electric utility while putting the needs of the community we serve at the forefront.

Open Mountain Energy’s Fish Lake geothermal plant will provide 3 megawatts of geothermal energy to LMUD customers. Open Mountain and Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems are two of LMUD’s industry partners helping the MUD meet state mandated renewable energy goals.
