Food for Lights

Give a food item. Get free holiday LEDs.

Lassen Municipal Utility District is happy to announce the Food for Lights holiday lighting giveaway. LMUD customers are invited to bring a non-perishable food item to our business office—65 South Roop Street— beginning December 1 in exchange for a box of multicolored LED holiday lights.

The goal of program is to increase awareness and promote the use of LED lights in LMUD’s service territory while helping replenish local food bank shelves after the holiday rush.

Lights are distributed to LMUD customers on a first-come, first-served basis, until supply lasts. There is a limit of one box per household for the first 200 customers.

In addition to the light giveaway, LMUD offers a rebate of up to $3 per box to customers who buy EnergyStar qualified LED holiday lights. Visit our website for program details and to download a rebate application.
