Lassen Municipal Utility District (LMUD) is happy to announce the recipients of the 2021 LMUD Community Scholarship: Hailey Gregor, Morgan Gould, and Trysta Spangle.

Hailey received the returning college student scholarship. She also received a graduating student scholarship in 2020 as a high school senior. The daughter of Matt and Kim Gregor of Susanville, Hailey attends the University of Nevada Reno. She is studying biochemistry and molecular biology, pursuing her goal of becoming a doctor.

Morgan plans to attend WyoTech Institute. He graduated a year early from high school while simultaneously earning an associate degree from Lassen Community College. Morgan’s goal is to become a diesel mechanic.

Trysta—a standout on the Lassen High girls soccer team—will pursue her associate degree from Lassen Community College while playing soccer for the Cougars. She plans to attend Oregon Institute of Tech, where she will major in radiology.

LMUD’s scholarship program is funded through the district’s Public Benefits program. Each year, one $500 and two $1,250 scholarships are awarded to students who attend or graduated from high school in the district’s service territory and whose parents or guardians reside in a home served by LMUD.

Congratulations to Hailey, Morgan, and Trysta. LMUD is proud to contribute to their academic success.
