Lassen Municipal Utility District Hires General Manager:

During the January 23rd board meeting, the Lassen MUD, board of directors, ratified the employment contract between the district and new General Manager, Robby Hamlin. Hamlin will take the helm at LMUD beginning February 1st, 2024.

Hamlin comes to LMUD with over 30 years of electric utility experience. He has spent time in engineering and operations at several utilities including, Alcorn Electric Cooperative in Mississippi, Valley Electric Association in Pahrump Nevada, and most recently at CoServ Electric Co-op in Texas, where he served as Sr. Vice President.

“I’m very excited to be named General Manager of Lassen,” says Hamlin. “It has been a career goal of mine to serve a rural utility as GM and LMUD is a great fit.” “My wife Deborah and I researched Susanville and Lassen County and we fell in love with the area. I was raised in rural Mississippi, and the closeness of small-town life is what we know, and love, and Susanville offers that. We’re looking forward to being part of the community.”

When it comes to leading LMUD, Hamlin is looking forward to the opportunity to bring stability to the district and to create a workplace where employees look forward to coming to work, feel valued, and are recognized for the contributions they are making. “I believe that our employees and the community we serve are extremely important to the district - I have an open-door policy and I want folks to know that I will be available to them, whether it's in the office or the community, I’m happy to discuss issues and exchange ideas,” says Hamlin, “I believe in openness and transparency, my goal is to put customers first, to focus on those we serve.”

“We had a lot of good candidates, said Director Jess Urionaguena, but Robby’s experience, knowledge, and background put him head and shoulders above the rest.”

The board of directors welcomed Hamlin to the team by saying they look forward to his arrival and they know he will be able to hit the ground running and devote his time and talents to the district and the community we serve.
