Spring & Summer Calendar of Events

As we gear up for event season, we look forward to seeing you throughout our service territory. From the Home and Garden Show to the Lassen County Fair Parade, the Lassen Municipal Utility District (LMUD) staff will be out and about.

April 27

Spring Home & Garden Show

Gates open at 10 a.m. Admission is free. Stop by the LMUD booth in Jensen Hall and pick up a free LED night light and other cool LMUD swag. Visit dozens of local vendors and get ideas for spring and summer. For the first time, the event will feature a chili cookoff.

Monticola Club Mother’s Day Brunch

Enjoy brunch with your mom, sister, aunt or daughter at the beautifully decorated Monticola Clubhouse. The menu offers a variety of brunch favorites.

The event raises funds for local scholarships for students pursuing careers in agriculture, farming and ranching.

Jr. Fishing Derby, Lassen Sportsman

The annual event promotes outdoor activities for youth ages 2 to 15. Dip your line in the Susan River for a chance to win the biggest fish prize. Sign-ups begin at dawn at Memorial Park.

Senior Awards Night

Join LMUD and other community-minded organizations as we honor the achievements of outstanding students. LMUD will award the 2024 Community Scholarship to two deserving students.

Susanville Farmers Market

LMUD is a proud sponsor of our local farmers market. The market starts the first Saturday in June and runs every Saturday through Labor Day weekend. You can find a variety of farm-to-table produce, grass-fed beef, and locally grown flowers. The market features live music and homemade foods.

Car Races & Fireworks

Attend the racing season’s most anticipated race of the year. Enjoy dirt track excitement followed by an exhilarating fireworks show. Bring the entire family.

Paul Bunyan Mountain & Blues Festival

Westwood Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend the annual festival featuring live music, a logging show, a chili cookoff, a play area for children food vendors, and a craft show. Embrace the history of Westwood. Built more than 100 years ago by the Red River Lumber Co., the originators of the legend of Paul Bunyan.

Lassen County Fair Parade

Line up along Main Street from Lassen Street to Fair Drive to watch LMUD trucks along with dozens of other entries in the annual parade. The parade features the Grand Marshal, Old Timers of the Year, and Miss Lassen County and her court.

July through August

Nature Camp

This LMUD-sponsored educational opportunity features 2 sessions, 8 to 10-year-olds and 10 to 12-year-olds. Lassen Land and Trails Trust Nature Camp runs for a week, and children can experience hands-on activities immersed in nature. Attendees will learn about environmental stewardship, conservation, and sustainability.
